Jack was born in Coon Rapids, Iowa on October 29, 1919 to George Oakley (Oak) Lewer and Mary (Mae) Teresa Lewer. He served honorably in the Army Air Corps during World War II as an airplane mechanic. After the war he went to work at Standard Brands where he met his lovely wife Margaret (Pegge) Wells. They were married in 1948 and then transferred down to San Diego in 1953. He was Owner/Chef of the "Golden Chicken Restaurant" in Hillcrest in the 1960's. Family and friends...

He was Owner/Chef of the "Golden Chicken Restaurant" in Hillcrest in the 1960's. Family and friends fondly remember the BEST fried chicken in town. Jack is survived by his sister Catherine, 6 children, 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Pegge, brother Jim, sister Lucile and daughter Patricia Debra. "Till We Meet Again"



Rosary Service at 7:00 pm, Wednesday May 24, 2017. Funeral Mass on Thursday May 25th at 1:00pm. Both Services will be held at Immaculata Catholic Church followed by internment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
